I have looked through this site but haven't seen the answer to a pressing question i have, forgive me if its been asked and answered before. I currently own a 2009 Evinrude 200 hp E200DSLSEM. I recently changed the water pump on it as per evinrude instructions. I want to know is why groment part number 349364 is not to be used on 60° V4 and V6. I own the 60°V6. What issues arise from the use of this part on the engines in question. There has to be a reason Evinrude doesnt want this part placed on said engines. Does anyone know the answer. I cannt sleep i need to know ,
Thanks for reading.

You may have a typo on the grommet part number
The 60 degree 2.6L and 90 degree 3.3Lmotors have different internal midsections, mostly because of the differences in exhaust tuning design and the design and type of plumbing for the cooling systems. The 3.4L later model motors are different yet.

The factory recommends that a properly trained technician service your Johnson or Evinrude outboard motor. Should you elect to perform repairs yourself, use caution, common sense, and observe safety procedures in the vicinity of flammable liquids, around moving parts, near high-temperature components, and working with electrical or ignition systems.
The information offered here is only general in nature and should not be construed as complete factory approved procedures, techniques, or specifications. Always use the proper service manual for your motor, up-to-date service literature, the correct tools, and have an understanding of how to proceed with troubleshooting and repair methods. If you are unsure or uncomfortable with a procedure, a situation, or a technique, enlist the services of a factory trained technician.
