Evinrude made it official this morning that they are offering a 10 year warranty on new motors purchased between December 12, 2016 and March 31,2017.

You have the next 108 days to take advantage of this generous offer.

The factory recommends that a properly trained technician service your Johnson or Evinrude outboard motor. If you elect to do it yourself, be sure to use caution, common sense, and to observe all safety procedures in the vicinity of gasoline, moving engine parts, high temperature components, heavy items, and electrical or ignition systems.

The information offered here is only general in nature and should not be construed as complete factory approved procedures, techniques, or specifications. Always use the proper service manual for your motor, up-to-date service literature, the correct tools, and have an understanding of how to proceed with troubleshooting and repair methods. If you are unsure or uncomfortable with a procedure, a situation or a technique, enlist the services of a factory trained technician.

Got the word yesterday from my builder that I qualify for the 10 year warranty, fantastic! Thanks Evinrude for believing in your products as much as I do.

I have a 2015 G2. Evinrude should extend the offer to all G2's?

The 10-year factory coverage was a sales promotion only for new motors sold between December 2016 and March 2017.

Your dealer is the one responsible for participating in the recent sales promotion and is also the one responsible for registering your motor with the factory for the 10-year coverage.

Contact your selling dealer concerning the registration of your motor and the extended service protection plan.
