More info and details, please, if you would like suggestions. It is advisable to take it to your Evinrude dealer as the high-tech motors need trained technicians, laptops, diagnostic software to repair.

The factory recommends that a properly trained technician service your Johnson or Evinrude outboard motor. Should you elect to perform repairs yourself, use caution, common sense, and observe safety procedures in the vicinity of flammable liquids, around moving parts, near high-temperature components, and working with electrical or ignition systems.

The information offered here is only general in nature and should not be construed as complete factory approved procedures, techniques, or specifications. Always use the proper service manual for your motor, up-to-date service literature, the correct tools, and have an understanding of how to proceed with troubleshooting and repair methods. If you are unsure or uncomfortable with a procedure, a situation, or a technique, enlist the services of a factory trained technician.

sorry if you did not get my message from yesterday. i'm new and having difficulty navigating the website, etc. hard starting, then there is very little accelleration. after viewing plugs, one was wet and three we're dry. when you work the throttle on the

motor it revs up completely normal. as soon as you put it in gear everything changes.  wondering if fishing line in the prop may have caused a prop problem such as a bearing. dont know if the wet plug is the one that works or the three dry ones are working properly. I have not always used the proper gas. However, if it was a gas problem than why does it rev up noemally when in nuetral by working the lever on the motor?

Your description of the engine power sounds like it may be mis-firing or not firing on one cylinder.  Take it to your Evinrude dealer to have their trained techs troubleshoot the motor and correct the problem.
