So I discovered this problem back in May. The paint is flaking off of my steering arm. The motor 300 HP G1 was hung brand new in 2015 and still has warranty time left. I love the motor but this paint problem is becoming an issue. First of all, I have contacted the place of purchase several times. First I was told all engines do this. Funny, I had twin 2001 Yamaha's OX 66 and never had that issue after 10 years of ownership. I then ran into him and he said to send him more pictures to which I did back in early June. Still no reply. Im sure this isn't Evinrudes fault due to Im pretty sure they aren't getting the information. I plan on keeping this engine for a very long time, but don't want to deal with corrosion issues either. I am done with dealing with Source 1 Marine in Hudson and am just looking for help.
