Reading EMM faults - melted piston

Can the EMM be read for stored faults with it disconnected from the motor?

I purchased a used 2006 90hp etec with a melted #1 piston. I have it torn down completely and cyl # 1 is getting rebored .020" oversize. Other two cylinders look good. Will be honed and rings replaced.

Any advice? Thanks.

Unfortunately an EMM has to be attached to the motor for accessing the information.

The factory recommends that a properly trained technician service your Johnson or Evinrude outboard motor.
