25hpE-Tec in the shop!

It has left me on the water two times in a row. After the first time I figured it was a bad hose connection. Went and picked up a new hose and tank. Got on the water it ran fine for about five minutes pumping water all good? Then it happened dead on the water again! Next day put it on the water hose and started first pull, then I see a LED light on for sensor fault? Shutit off and put in the shop for repair today. I dont think I have twenty hours on this engine and to top it off the dealer has a yard full of e-tecs to repair. He said he may get to it in about five weeks. So much for more time on the water!

I'm sorry to hear about your engine problem. Are there other authorized dealers around to take the motor to?

Had one close, but he stopped selling E-TEC. All the other dealers are over an hour away and the wait is the same.

Re: 25hpE-Tec in the shop!

Got the e-tec back from the shop Saturday! I went out and ran it and its still not fixed! The tech told me it w as the emm not seeing enough water pressure so the engine would shut down. The water pump wasnt burnt or melted it was irregular in shap. He call b.r.p. and they covered under warranty. Its a shame the moter has 14 hrs. On it and the thing is nothing but problems!

Re: 25hpE-Tec in the shop!

The EMM cannot sense water pressure. If that is what the tech told you, then it's time for someone qualified who can check it out for you.

Call Evinrude Customer Service with the serial number at 262-884-5993 as soon as you can during regular business hours and explain your situation.

Re: 25hpE-Tec in the shop!

Is run a motor in a test tank the same as running the boat in open water??? The dealer told me they ran my motor for about 15 minutes with no issues? ? That is what they told me when i brought the motor back to them today. I just hope it dosnt take them six weeks this time to get to it.

With your reoccuring problem, it is best to duplicate the conditions with a water test with a laptop and fuel diagnostic equipment hooked up.
