E-TEC 75: What holds the flywheel cover down?

200i 75 hp E-TEC first-timer here. Does the flywheel cover simply press fit down on the 3 bolts protruding through the rubber grommets? On our engine the cover seems to pop up easy off those bolts. I’ve searched online and the service manual, and I don’t see any firmer attachment mechanism. If I’m right, then I guess I just need to get three new grommets for a tighter fit? Thanks.

Yes it is just the grommet that hold it on.
The grommets on that engine need to be a dry fit and not lubricated. Clean the pins and the inside of the grommets with detergent or brake cleaner to remove any oil. Also the wiring harness is run through the starboard side of the cover, it could be zip tied to the battery cable or bracket in a manner that would push up on the cover.

Thanks! I found the grommet that had popped out when I was fiddling with the cover, cleaned all three carefully and refitted them. Holding fine after two more runs.
