Help to connect E-Tec with Garmin.

Hello, I have a E-Tec 130HP and a Garmin Echomap Chirp 93SV.

I would like to see the engine functions in my Garmin device.

I'd like some help, to know which cables I need to make that call.

Thank you

Re: Help to connect E-Tec with Garmin.

You will need the engine EMM to backbone cable, the boat mounted network called the backbone, and from Garmin a drop cable and tee fitting to attach it to the backbone.

Your dealer is the one best suited to install and calibrate your network. If you plan on doing it yourself, study up on how it works and what is needed for installation. Here is a link to an article that may help you understand it better.

The factory recommends that a properly trained technician service your Johnson or Evinrude outboard motor. If you elect to do it yourself, be sure to use caution, common sense, and to observe all safety procedures in the vicinity of gasoline, moving engine parts, high temperature components, heavy items, and electrical or ignition systems.

The information offered here is only general in nature and should not be construed as complete factory approved procedures, techniques, or specifications. Always use the proper service manual for your motor, up-to-date service literature, the correct tools, and have an understanding of how to proceed with troubleshooting and repair methods. If you are unsure or uncomfortable with a procedure, a situation or a technique, enlist the services of a factory trained technician.

Re: Help to connect E-Tec with Garmin.

Your local Evinrude dealer and a place that sells Garmin parts. Perhaps your dealer can obtain the Garmin parts.
