Thanks Bill!
I was was thinking it was either a 88 or 89 based on what little I was able to find online. It sure would be nice if there was a chart out there with all the different cowling decals and years.
Thanks again for your time!
Rick

Can you post images of the engine cover decals?

The factory recommends that a properly trained technician service your Johnson or Evinrude outboard motor. Should you elect to perform repairs yourself, use caution, common sense, and observe safety procedures in the vicinity of flammable liquids, around moving parts, near high-temperature components, and working with electrical or ignition systems.
The information offered here is only general in nature and should not be construed as complete factory approved procedures, techniques, or specifications. Always use the proper service manual for your motor, up-to-date service literature, the correct tools, and have an understanding of how to proceed with troubleshooting and repair methods. If you are unsure or uncomfortable with a procedure, a situation, or a technique, enlist the services of a factory trained technician.

1989 or 1990, the engines were practically identical those 2 years.

There is no serial and model number tag on the swivel bracket?
Is there something I could look at to narrow it down? I have a Seloc for 1992+ models and want to be sure of what I'm looking at. I'm about to undertake resealing the lower unit and want to make sure I have all the right parts, specs and instructions.
Thanks!

Motor cover decals look like 1991
Gearcase repair is all the same.

I just bought a 90 hp Evinrude with partially missing I D sticker, I would like to find out serial number and model number.
I Do have the number from that disc on block, it is 5018804
This motor is on a 2003 Crestliner 1750 Fish hawk, and previous long time owner says this was original motor on this boat.
Please help me
Thank you

Thank you,
I did not know how to find the serial number until I read one of your posts.
Again, thank you
