Funny starting motor at times

Do not know what to put up in the SUBJECT BAR.....but I have a 2014 135 HO E-TECH and this has been a on going thing [ problem ] if you will. Motor has always started when sitting in lift. Motor runs like a swiss watch, but at times while I am fishing and then want to move it starts to act funny, when I go to start it might just crank over and not start, or it might just go ump,2-3 times, then it acts like it wants to start but does not. I have had it to the dealer for normal check up and for my 3 year check up and told them but I know you can not fixe anything if it does not act up at that time. I have checked the battery connections and they are clean and tight, I have pumped the primer bulb, NO HELP, I have let it run after I stop before I turn it off, NO HELP. Aparently when they hook up the computer it shows nothing. Do not get me wrong this is a fantastic motor and I would have nothing else but when this happens it is mind blowing on WHY.

The factory recommends that a properly trained technician service your Johnson or Evinrude outboard motor. Should you elect to perform repairs yourself, use caution, common sense, and observe safety procedures in the vicinity of flammable liquids, around moving parts, near high-temperature components, and working with electrical or ignition systems.

The information offered here is only general in nature and should not be construed as complete factory approved procedures, techniques, or specifications. Always use the proper service manual for your motor, up-to-date service literature, the correct tools, and have an understanding of how to proceed with troubleshooting and repair methods. If you are unsure or uncomfortable with a procedure, a situation, or a technique, enlist the services of a factory trained technician.
