Fuel flow

Hi!

Wondering if it´s possible to connect a gauge showing amount of fuel/trip

I´ve ordered a 75Hp e-tec to be delivered and I´m gonna use it with a portable gas tank therefor I´m not interested in seeing the actual amount of gas in tank but it would be sweet to be able to see how much gas I´ve spent for a trip

i.e I´d like to be able to reset a trip meter and then start measuring the gas flow and se how much I´ve consumed

(then I´d be able to calculate how much further I could travel before refueling even when using a portable gas tank.

Also - is it possible to install the motor yourself and start it up wothout having access to software

- thinking about oil priming etc for the first start

best regards

The one nice thing about this website is that you do not have to post a question multiple times here.

Please refer to your other posting for the answers to your inquiry.

The factory recommends that a properly trained technician service your Johnson or Evinrude outboard motor. Should you elect to perform repairs yourself, use caution, common sense, and observe safety procedures in the vicinity of flammable liquids, around moving parts, near high-temperature components, and working with electrical or ignition systems.

The information offered here is only general in nature and should not be construed as complete factory approved procedures, techniques, or specifications. Always use the proper service manual for your motor, up-to-date service literature, the correct tools, and have an understanding of how to proceed with troubleshooting and repair methods. If you are unsure or uncomfortable with a procedure, a situation, or a technique, enlist the services of a factory trained technician.
