2010 Evinrude Etec 25 stops discharging

So I have recently picked up a 2010 Evinrude Etec 25. It’s been a nightmare so far. First fuel pump went out. Then overheat issue. So I replaced the whole water pump. Replaced the thermostat and spring. Today I went and ran it. Great flow at idle. Then after about ten minutes of idling no more discharge from the tale tell. Let it cool down. Checked everything again. Everything was good. Ran it again with the same issue. This time I checked the thermostat as soon the water stopped coming out and it was wide open. This very confusing one for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Everything still looks good.

Were you running on a hose or on a boat in the water?

If the motor has a history of overheating, check a printout of the EMM report, remove the powerhead, inpect water tube and exhaust tuner, and remove head and exhaust cover looking for damage or gasket problems.

look for possible broken impeller parts or debris.

There's no system check ga. indication for overheat for a 25 Etec.

If overheat, it slows to about 1200 rpm and a light comes on in the EMM

It’s weird that it just didn’t start after it died. Then after it cooled down it restarted. No 1200 rpms were even offered. Just wouldn’t start. No lights on the EMM either.

If the electric fuel pump was not working correctly, you could get the same symptoms. Monitor the fuel pressure while you take the motor out for a spin.

Re: 2010 Evinrude Etec 25 stops discharging

If the fuel pump isn’t working correctly that will cause the engine not to start which makes sense. But will it cause the water to stop coming out the tell tale? If it’s cold and I press the start button if fires right up in like half a second. Idles great. Runs perfect all the way through. Just stops discharging water out the tell tale.
