Etec 300 top end

Ok so here’s the question, I’m about to start messing with props to get better top end rpm, and maybe speed, but before I spend money on props someone suggested I should make sure I don’t have an engine power problem, my question is, what’s the best way to do that,

I’ve been told a standard computer hookup won’t do that, obviously a compression check would make sense, but otherwise, a load test on the water was what I was told. Is that the only way?

Re: Etec 300 top end

Using EV5 diagnostics and performing a cylinder kill test at cruise or wide open throttle to check for an even rpm drop on each cylinder would be the best test.
