I have a E150DPXAB with 325 hours on it. I recently took it to my dealer for a surging problem which he digsnosed to be a bad fuel injector. He replaced it under warranty but stated that because I was running 10% ethanol fuel that they would not replace injectors in the future. He also said that they would not warranty my motor for internal problems if I continued to run ethanol. They did the 300 hour service 3 months ago. I run XD100 oil. I can not find in my operatior guide where I have to run nonethanol fuel. I have the B.E.S.T. plan for 10 years or 1500 hours and do not want to void my warranty. What are your thoughts.

Your motor is designed to run on 10% ethanol ( E-10 ) gasoline as printed in the operators guide and in service literature.

The factory recommends that a properly trained technician service your Johnson or Evinrude outboard motor. Should you elect to perform repairs yourself, use caution, common sense, and observe safety procedures in the vicinity of flammable liquids, around moving parts, near high-temperature components, and working with electrical or ignition systems.
The information offered here is only general in nature and should not be construed as complete factory approved procedures, techniques, or specifications. Always use the proper service manual for your motor, up-to-date service literature, the correct tools, and have an understanding of how to proceed with troubleshooting and repair methods. If you are unsure or uncomfortable with a procedure, a situation, or a technique, enlist the services of a factory trained technician.
