Spark plugs fouled.

Hey everyone,

Just bought a 2013 300HP etec with 500hrs.  Had my first ride of season and noticed a small miss at idle.   Performed my spring mtce so a checked the plugs and all 6 fouled.  Talked to previous owner and the engine is set up for XD100 oil but first summer the previous owner had engine it wasn't set up for Xd100 and he was burning 100 oil and going through alot.  Engine was smoking etc.  After the switch in programing engine didn't smoke.   My question is, would plugs still be fouled after 2 summers?  I installed new plugs and will check for fouling after a few rides.IMG_20200321_204937628.jpg

Re: Spark plugs fouled.

It is normal for ETEC plugs to have a black color. A service should have been done at 3 years or 300 hours, whichever came first and also at 6 years/600 hours. Plug condition could depend on the actual age/hours on the plugs.
