I have had the fuse blow on 2 recent trips right after launching and start up. The engine started right away after being trimmed down but would bog down upon acceleration. Also the tach and trim wouldn't work and it wouldn't restart. After replaceing the fuse, the engine ran fine the whole trip both times. I am wonder if I will have the same problem on my nexy trip. I took it in for service after the first episode and nothing was found to cause the fuse to blow.
Anyone else have this fuse problem?
From your description, it sounds very much like an intermittent short somewhere in the wiring harness that rubbed the engine block. That is the most common type of cause.
It is time consuming, especially when the problem is only occasional, to inspect every connect and length of wiring harness for chafing or being worn through.
