Engineering and upper management assured everyone several years ago that elements of the G2 technology will trickle down the engine line in the future.

The factory recommends that a properly trained technician service your Johnson or Evinrude outboard motor. Should you elect to perform repairs yourself, use caution, common sense, and observe safety procedures in the vicinity of flammable liquids, around moving parts, near high-temperature components, and working with electrical or ignition systems.

The information offered here is only general in nature and should not be construed as complete factory approved procedures, techniques, or specifications. Always use the proper service manual for your motor, up-to-date service literature, the correct tools, and have an understanding of how to proceed with troubleshooting and repair methods. If you are unsure or uncomfortable with a procedure, a situation, or a technique, enlist the services of a factory trained technician.

Re: 115 HO Etec future update to G2 Technology

Checking back in on Evinrudes 2020 plans for the 115 or even the 135 EtecHO upgrade to the new G2 technology.  Still waiting.  Many people motives are based on bassboats. Not the case for me.  My decision is on the motor.  I'm willing to wait because I think the EtecG2 technology offers the most innovative marine motor technology today.  Hopefully, 2020 will be that year.  If not than I will consider another brand.  Patiently, waiting.   Smiley Wink

Re: 115 HO Etec future update to G2 Technology

The marine industry does not have times of the year where new products are introduced. At this time, especially since there are no more yearly designations of outboard motors, new products are introduced as they become finalized in design and ready for production. Sometimes this may coincide with a national boat show and other times the marketing department starts with an advertising campaign to introduce something new.

BRPEvinrude keeps a tight lip on future products and will announce them when they have been thoroughly tested and ready for the assembly line.

Duly noted.  When is the bassmaster classic?  T/hat could be a evnet to signal G2 next steps for 2019.
