38 hours on a 2015 300 g2 and I can`t tilt up or down. I can hear a noise like it wants to engage but won't. It is the same result with either the main tilt switch or trailering switch. I am sure it has plenty of battery to activate but it just won't go. Worked fine when we put in lake this morning, so it has fluid.
Tried tapping on relay and checked fuses ... fuses were good. Still no movement. Any suggestions?

Does it work from the Pan hard switch on motor?

Is it a high speed whirring sound? If so, it may be low on fluid or the trim motor shaft not turning the hydraulic pump. Chances are your motor is in warranty.

The factory recommends that a properly trained technician service your Johnson or Evinrude outboard motor. Should you elect to perform repairs yourself, use caution, common sense, and observe safety procedures in the vicinity of flammable liquids, around moving parts, near high-temperature components, and working with electrical or ignition systems.
The information offered here is only general in nature and should not be construed as complete factory approved procedures, techniques, or specifications. Always use the proper service manual for your motor, up-to-date service literature, the correct tools, and have an understanding of how to proceed with troubleshooting and repair methods. If you are unsure or uncomfortable with a procedure, a situation, or a technique, enlist the services of a factory trained technician.

Thanks for responding BB and CHON...I am pretty sure the problem is in the electric motor that drives the trim and tilt.
I was able to get a bit of movement when tapping on the electric motor, not very much movement but it did go up and down while tapping, then it quit altogether. Relay makes a clicking noise when trying either direction. Trim makes noises like it is dead battery but battery is fully charged. Thankfully I do have warranty left so to the shop it goes. going to miss the fishing tourney this weekend tho' warranty won't cover lost entry fee im guessing. I appreciate your inputs and will re-post what the evinrude techs find after i get it back next week. Tight lines everyone

Trim continues to make noise after trim switch is releast up or down although the motor is not moving up or down, also makes a whinning noise when idoling in nuetral and go's away when you turn the wheel. Trim is slow and sometimes does't work at all when pushing the button on the motor until you press it up and down a couple times.Trim sounds week and rough. G2 200HO 250 hours.

Trim is moderate and now and again does't work at all when pressing the catch on the engine until you press it all over a couple times.Trim sounds week and unpleasant. G2 200HO 250 hours.
