NMEA2000 & Humminbird Solix

G2 engine outputs to Humminbird Solix

On Solix there is the option to view OIL Level. However mine will not indicate anything.

Have pro gauges and oil level shows on evinrude gauge.

Other motor outputs can be selected on solix.

Re: NMEA2000 & Humminbird Solix

Many displays only provide for the common NMEA2000 protocols such as rpm, voltage, water temp, etc. Outboard companies have in addition proprietary warning or informational data that can only be shown on their products.

That is why you need at least one Evinrude gauge to keep your warranty in force allowing the boat operator to become aware of any warnings or changes in essential engine parameters.

The factory recommends that a properly trained technician service your Johnson or Evinrude outboard motor. Should you elect to perform repairs yourself, use caution, common sense, and observe safety procedures in the vicinity of flammable liquids, around moving parts, near high-temperature components, and working with electrical or ignition systems.

The information offered here is only general in nature and should not be construed as complete factory approved procedures, techniques, or specifications. Always use the proper service manual for your motor, up-to-date service literature, the correct tools, and have an understanding of how to proceed with troubleshooting and repair methods. If you are unsure or uncomfortable with a procedure, a situation, or a technique, enlist the services of a factory trained technician.

Re: NMEA2000 & Humminbird Solix

I have a new 2020 G2 150HO C150HGXF that is being rigged.  I will have the Evinrude 4.3" Icon II display and will have Hummibird Solix graphs.

With this new engine is it necessary to use a SIMRAD–Evinrude Engine Interface Cable, or will the integrated NMEA 2000 output on the engine be sufficent to get the same information to the Solix Graphs?

Thank you!

Re: NMEA2000 & Humminbird Solix

The G2 uses NMEA2000 internally already so you only have to connect it to the boat's network.
