2012 50 HP E-TEC vibration

I just repowered my 15 ft Boston Whaler in December and am pleased with it's performance the 6 times I've used it so far. But when at idle there is significant vibration that rattles everything loose in the boat. The dealer said it could be from excess oil in the 10 hour break in period. He said if it continues after break in, they will adjust idle to fix problem. Is this common?

Re: 2012 50 HP E-TEC vibration

Vibration noises are usually due to loose items or the harmonics of a particular hull. Your dealer can increase or decrease your idle speed in gear to help alleviate a vibration problem.

There is no real break-in on an E-TEC engine but the engine's computer dispenses extra oil for acceleration and speeds above 2000rpm for the first 2 hours.

Thanks for the info. Fishing Puget Sound so haven't been able to hit top speed yet but hit 31 mph on GPS for a moment by myself without trimming out.
