Diagnostic Code 137

I purchased twin ETEC G2 300s in June of 2016 and have repeatedly had problems with the engines being shut down while miles offshore.  The diagnostic code I have consistently received is Code 137: Fuel Delivery Issue.  This happened despite clean fuel, no kinks in fuel line, or no obstructions of any kind.

Would appreciate it if other owners who have experienced this same issue could tell me what they did to resolve the problem.

I've seen some indication that there is a service bulletin relating to a required software update and/or replacement of defective solenoids.  This is a bit disturbing to hear that a service bulletin has been issued, yet I was never notified by Evinrude that this issue had risen to that level

Frustrated on Cape Cod....

Re: Diagnostic Code 137

A service bulletin is to inform a dealer about a service issue that may apply only to limited number of  engines or to certain conditions. It is not a recall for all motors. In many cases proactive dealers will contact their affected customers if it concerns them or their operating conditions.

Contact your dealer and discuss whether any bulletins apply to your particular engine.

***************

The factory recommends that a properly trained technician service your Johnson or Evinrude outboard motor. Should you elect to perform repairs yourself, use caution, common sense, and observe safety procedures in the vicinity of flammable liquids, around moving parts, near high-temperature components, and working with electrical or ignition systems.

The information offered here is only general in nature and should not be construed as complete factory approved procedures, techniques, or specifications. Always use the proper service manual for your motor, up-to-date service literature, the correct tools, and have an understanding of how to proceed with troubleshooting and repair methods. If you are unsure or uncomfortable with a procedure, a situation, or a technique, enlist the services of a factory trained technician.

Re: Diagnostic Code 137

I have a 2016 G2 300. I will not run code 137.

Brought to dealer and they got the boat running and sad to have my tank cleaned. The boat run two days and shut down agin on code 137.

Had fuel tank cleaned. full looked fine no debre.

Pulled fuel tank line and screen and checked ok.

Changed both fuel filters again. filled with new fuel.

Pulled feed line from first boat filter to engine and placed in a new gas tank. Nothing there seems to be no suction from prim pump. I can hear it run but nothing is happening?
