I have a E150D that the starter is staying engaged and powered after the start function is released. The starter is new and a known good one off the other motor does the same thing. If I pull and replace the start circuit connector on the solenoid, the starter ceases to spin and all is good. If I turn the key off, the motor and the starter cease. Before I start throwing parts at it, has anyone dealt with this and could save me some time?

I swapped the wire harnesses behind the key switches. The issue stayed with the switch. My plan is to change the ignition switch at the helm. Am I troubleshooting this properly?

I swapped the key switch and eliminated the problem. Yes, I have twin engines.

Glad to hear that you found and fixed the problem
