Engine light and alarm

I have a 2005 150 etec. My engine light and alarm came on. After a few minutes it cleared and boat ran fine. Then it happened again and I. COuld not get more that 1000 RPM Thoughts?

Re: Engine light and alarm

Most common causes are water pump failure/ cooling system blockage or water in fuel on engines that have the spin on filter and sensor.

There was no 2005 150 hp E-TEC engine.  Please post the complete model number so we can accurately assess your symptoms and offer a knowledgeable suggestion.

Exactly which light came on in your gauge? Was it the TEMP or CHECK ENGINE or one of the other lights?
