Etec 150 Check Engine Light/Horn now Won't Start

[ Edited ]

So my 2018 Etec 150 outboard will not turnover at all.

The Check Engine warning light and horn came on between the launch and the dock and then they both turned off while I was still under power.

Now, nothing happens at all on the turn of the ignition.

No tilt or trim either.

The battery tests OK, lights and radio and horn still work.

Fuse perhaps?

Help!

Swapped out the fuse and replaced a negative crimp eyelet...not sure which one did it but it is FIXED!

Thank you!

If you mean you replaced the starting battery "negative crimp eyelet", because it was corroded or loose, that would be the cause. You should be able to see the break in the fuse.

For a very secure connection, the battery cables and terminals should not only be crinped but also soldered and protected with heat shrink.tubing.
