I have a 2003 Fish Hawk with a 225HP Ficht. Recently been having issue with power trim going up and down with both switches- throttle lever and trailer switch. The switch and electric motor are working(motor heard operating), just no movement in up or down at times. It will work okay for a bit on the trailer and in the water, then nothing but electric motor noise. I have checked the fluid level and it is at the filler (I attempted to add and it flowed out instantly).. The only way I can get it to move down when it was stuck up is to use the manual and then it works fine for a few cycles. I thought about flushing it out by removing old fluid out and adding new, cycle for a bit then repeat. I am the second owner. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
If the reservoir is full of clean oil when the motor is tilted up fully, then it could be a leaky manual release valve or an internal vavling problem. Has water ever entered the trim system and is the oil discolored at all?
The system may have to have the pressures tested by a dealer with the appropriate adapters and hydraulic gauges.

The following trick may help you. It was needed on some earlier integral T/Ts. However it only deals with tilt locked in upper position and your problem seem slightly different.
'As soon as the engine has been trimmed to top position, flick the down button for 1 second. This will move the shuttle-valve to down position and stop it from getting hydraulically locked in up position.'
I have the Fastrak trim system on my Evinrude. I did get a outboard shop manual when I bought the boat that was in a box I forgot about.
BluewaterBill- I think your right with a interval valve issue.
Nordman- I am stuck in the full up and may have hydraulic locking issue too
I can release to down using the manual release screw and able to operate the trim(I didnt take it full down). It operates ok in the areas between down to the rams and shy of full up. The motor/hydraulics sounds like I have some bleeding of pressure happening, mostly towards the up position.
The manual states this a complex trim and tilt system. Great!!! Looking at the manual it appears the system is modular and the motor and pump assembly can be replaced as a unit. So dont know if that is the route to go. I was looking for a way to drain the system through a drain plug but couldnt find one and the manual didnt show one.
There are no signs of leakage or possiblility of water entering the system.
