Just waiting to pull the trigger...

on buying the new 135 HO for my new welded aluminum boat build.  The local Evinrude guy suggested we wait till the boatshow time period (December/Jan) as he thinks there may be a nice promotion coming ... fingers crossed Smiley Happy

Re: Just waiting to pull the trigger...

Often there are sales incentive programs during the boat show season but there is no advance notice on either the duration or the features.

At this time there is a 7 year factory coverage until Nov 30th on new Evinrude E-TEC engines and your dealer can give you the details.

The factory recommends that a properly trained technician service your Johnson or Evinrude outboard motor. Should you elect to perform repairs yourself, use caution, common sense, and observe safety procedures in the vicinity of flammable liquids, around moving parts, near high-temperature components, and working with electrical or ignition systems.

The information offered here is only general in nature and should not be construed as complete factory approved procedures, techniques, or specifications. Always use the proper service manual for your motor, up-to-date service literature, the correct tools, and have an understanding of how to proceed with troubleshooting and repair methods. If you are unsure or uncomfortable with a procedure, a situation, or a technique, enlist the services of a factory trained technician.

Re: Just waiting to pull the trigger...

I would trust your Evinrude guy.  I too was looking to repower my boat last year and was given the same recommendation to wait for the local boat show.  I did, went to the show and actually talked to the Southwest Evinrude sales manager, (I'm in Austiin, TX).  it was great, he answered a bunch of my questions, helped steer me with some good advice to think about, and best of all, Evinrude was running "show specials", and i got a 10 year warranty, (that was going on before the show and was one of the things that caught my attention), but at the show they were giving complete free basic rigging, (I upgraded to the higher end Binnicle for the difference in price), and a free prop of my choosing from the entire prope catalog.  So, I would definately recommend a wait and see what they are doing at the show.  Worked out great for me.

A 10 year factory coverage promotion starts Dec 17 and continues to March 31 of next year. You can also get free rigging and a 5 year coverage. See your dealer for details. Included in the free rigging offer are upgrades at reduced costs.

Re: Just waiting to pull the trigger...

Well just found this great news. I was waiting for all Christmas and New Year festivities to end before I scheduled a re-power.

Is this a BRP promotion or just regional/local deal?

Re: Just waiting to pull the trigger...

Safest thing is likely to go to the Evinrude.com page.  Click promotions then enter your Zip or Postal Code and it will tell you if it is available in your area.  I took for granted it was a USA / Canada promotion but not sure.  Smiley Happy

30usa1, The 10 year warranty promotion is a BRP deal and is at least USA so you are covered in Alabama
