Low oil and No oil control lamps in rev meter

When winterizating my E-tec 50 (2014) I had a "strange" control lamp experience. I bought my motor this summer and hadn't thought about it, but the control lamps for Low oil and No oil doesn't work. When turning ignition on, they don't flash and during winterization they were black. Is it something common? Any ideas where to search? The bulbs inside the rev meter seems far fetched, but where else shall I look? Or is it an indicator in the oil tank that needs to be replaced?

Re: Low oil and No oil control lamps in rev meter

When the ignition is turned on it sends power to the tachometer. The four indicator lamps come on then go off in sequence as a self test. A tach would do this same self test if connected to power with no engine connection. So if indicators do not light up at key on then it is an internal problem in the tach.

Thank you for your reply. Does this mean a new tachometer, or can it be repaired?
