That is not very reassuring. They said hey tested both sides of the pump and they were showing open circuit, so it has to be the pump. Fingers crossed.

You may want to ask the dealer to talk to Evinrude support to see if they can participate in some way to help you out. You can also contact Evinrude support at  http://www.brp.com/en/forms/contact-us.html

Re: No oil alarm

Hi BluewaterBill...

This is my first post here. Thanks for your attention.

I was reading the problems with different ETECs motors, I have similar problems with my 2012 ETEC: E115DPXAAA serial 5359723.

The 3 lights come on: NO OIL, LOW OIL, ENGINE.

After using the scanner I have faced the CODE 38 : (my battery was near to be discharged, that is why there are other alarms):

 error codes.jpeg

But my concern is that the motor was expelling white smoke and there was a rare sounds like small friction bewtween metals.

Do you think that I need to replace the oil pump?? Please see attached image: 0.08psig as oil pressure according to the Scanner.

Thanks for your advice.

Regards

Re: No oil alarm

First things first, the white or gray smoke is steam coming out of your exhaust relief. If there was a problem with the motor you would either see blue or black smoke.  It is usually more noticeable on a cool humid day and also when the motor is brought down to idle after a run at high speeds.

For your code 38, I would recommend that a dealer check over the motor and troubleshoot it for you. They can also listen for the sound and investigate.

If you want to do it yourself, obtain the factory service manual and any appropriate special tools and follow the procedures step by step.

Re: No oil alarm

There are no recalls for your motor. Your dealer can check to see if there is anything that pertains to your engine and if so, what may have already been done or needs to be addressed.
