Unlike traditional 2-strokes where the oil mixes with the gas and passes through the crankcase only for a split second, the E-TEC uses a pressurized oil system that never is diluted by gasoline. The oil is recycled internally and eventually any oil vapor picked up by the air flow is completely burned up. That is why the E-TEC has the lowest total emissions of any other motor including 4-strokes.

The factory recommends that a properly trained technician service your Johnson or Evinrude outboard motor.
