Why is it taking so long for my dealer to get parts for my 40HP E-Tec? The parts were ordered on June 12 by my dealer in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Canada. A week later the dealer still had not recieved them, so I asked them to track them for me. They came back to me with " the parts had to come from the States. They have been shipped, but we don't know when we'll recieve them". Called the dealer again on June 25 and got the same story. Called again today, July 2 and got the same story again. I find it hard to believe that someone can't find out about these parts after three weeks. A tracking number from the transport company must be availible. Needless to say, I am very frustrated with this and consider this to be unacceptable. The engine is less than a year old.
Any one else having issues with parts from Evinrude in Wisconson to Canada? And why does Evinrude not have a parts supply in Canada.
I have serious doubts that I will purchase another Evinrude product after this.
I'm sorry to hear about your parts situation. If they were shipped, then your dealer can easily track them from the shipping info from the parts distribution center.

The information offered here is only general in nature and should not be construed as complete factory approved procedures, techniques, or specifications. Always use the proper service manual for your motor, up-to-date service literature, the correct tools, and have an understanding of how to proceed with troubleshooting and repair methods. If you are unsure or uncomfortable with a procedure, a situation, or a technique, enlist the services of a factory trained technician.
