Prop size

Good day all, I’m running an 17’10” alumi craft with a 90 hp evinrude. I’m running a 13.25 x 17 prop and reving to high. Looking to bring the revs down and get more speed out of it. What size prop should I be looking to go to? I’ve been told a 21 pitch

Re: Prop size

You must have light boat as I have a 2012 90 Etech on a Alumacraft Trophy 170 and could not get full RPM out of it. Boat to heavy or somethimg. Have to go to a 13 pitch just to get to 5500. So am in process of switching to a 1996 115 hp Evinrude . Check out my other posts and see where I am going with it. Fellow Canuck I see.

Re: Prop size

Mines a voyager 175, didn’t really think it was that light lol
I don’t throttle past 6000 rpm and have lots of throttle left. I would like to get it down on rpms and get more speed out of it. I can’t get it over 26 mph without over reving it

Something wrong there !!!   Mine I figuired was struggling BUT still got 58kph or 36 mph at 5400 rpm with a 15 pitch.  Same with a 17 pitch but 400 RPM less. So to me there is something not right with your setup. You maybe running motor to high out of good water or prop not right or something??  Specially only getting 26 mph at close to 6000 rpm. Maybe Tach not right or something. My 90 Etech is running perfect after getting it checked out by Etec specialist.

Re: Prop size

PLUS you should not have more RPM left at 6000.  That is MAX for motor. I would get Tach checked out.
